Home » Your Own Version Of MySpace IBM Say to Businesses

IBM is planning to get into social networking with a touch of business by giving companies software tools to let their employees set up sites similar to the biggest of them all MySpace.
There are many community sites out there like Facebook, Frunity.com but this does seem to be a lot like a PR stunt as many companies know social networking is big business.
Anything that can build a big community and have your brand stamped on it is good news for companies and IBM alike.
IBM aims to help companies more effectively allow employees to share information and it makes sense.
social-networking tools could have some value for business (not a lot of junk like people feel about personal profiles) when they’re used not to enable dates and spread gossip, but rather to disseminate useful information.
IBM could be on to something or do you think it’s just a PR stunt?.
