The users will say YouTube is the best thing since sliced bread but the media companies are singing a different tune and worried about loss of revenue and some are even taking it as far as to sue Google over YouTube.

This is just what Entertainment giant Viacom Media has done with a $1bn (£517m) lawsuit, Viacom is a big company and owns the likes of Nickelodeon, MTV, cable networks VH1 and Comedy Central.
Viacom alleges that about 160,000 unauthorized clips of its programmes have been loaded onto YouTube’s site and viewed more than 1.5 billion times.
This we can understand and it is easy to see that this is Clearly illegal, but with Google’s vast resources will anything come of the lawsuit, time will tell and our guess is this is all free press for the companies (a deal will get struck).

  1. This is not a story of who is right or wrong, instead it is all a process that always hits the press first then you here a deal being made…free press.
