Cisco Buys WebEx
Cisco has acquired many companies over the years and now WebEx is Cisco’s 119th acquisition since 1993 and has cost Cisco Systems $3.2 billion in cash.

WebEx Communications is an online meeting company which is nothing to-do with Cisco’s core market and just goes to show again how Cisco is stepping into the lucrative arena of business communications.

The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2007 as it has been approved by both boards, and this shows another site to Cisco and a smart plan as it’s latest acquisitions of social networking, communications and other areas helps increase demand for its core equipment (networking gear).
