It’s called the STR9810/20 and this product from Taiwan’s IAdea & Star Semi say that it the world’s first BitTorrent-optimized microprocessor.
The plans are to put this microprocessor in consumer products that would need the BitTorrent service, and these include DLNA appliances, set-top boxes, DVD players, smart HDDs, NAS, wireless routers and a lot more.
SO not only does BitTorrent continue to reach out to more and more partners in the digital content world but it is not also making partnerships in the semiconductors world that power top consumer electronic devices.
